New Softball/Little League Field Fundraiser
Denmark Youth Baseball & Softball (DYBS), an IRS recognized non-profit organization, has started a new fund raising program to build a new softball/little league field. The above photo shows Wes Locklear's $500 donation through his employer, CenturyLink, being presented to Al Mazna President and Mark Looker Treasurer of DYBS. Many more donations will be needed before the land can be acquired and the project started. To donate contact Alan Mazna at 920-863-5179. Possible permanent naming rights exist for extremely large benefactors. DYBS has used part of the proceeds of its last 3 annual banquets and invested this money to reach 15% of the project's estimated cost. Annually DYBS has more than 350 young athletes from the ages of 6 to 19 enrolled in summer baseball and softball leagues so approximately 1500 people including players, family members, friends and spectators are affected by these various programs. Over the last 16 years DYBS has spent over $260,000 in various field improvements at the Upper and Lower Diamonds of War Memorial Park, the Highridge Avenue Diamond and the new Eaton Community Ball Diamond.
Welcome Eaton Community Ball Diamond
On May 20th Denmark Youth Baseball & Softball welcomed Eaton Community Ball Diamond into our organization. Eaton Community Ball Diamond is constructing a new diamond in the town of Eaton just east of the Fire Station. The diamond is expected to be finished by the end of June for use by DYB&S. The diamond will have new backstops, the field will be tiled with magic mix put on the infield and new grass planted in the outfield. This will be a great addition for DYB&S. The diamond will be used for T-Ball, Jr Little League, Jr Girls Fast Pitch & for practice for all ages to help alleviate
the congestion we have in Denmark. DYB&S donated $6150.00 to this project, $1150.00 coming from Mike Collins who donated to DYB&S, which came from Pitching Camps he sponsored this spring.
Thank You Mike Collins!
Alan Mazna, President
